Civil protection training

Cantonal responsibility

Civil protection training focuses primarily on dealing with disasters and emergencies, and is a cantonal responsibility. Each partner organisation organises its own specialized training. All staff unit members are given basic and on-going training to prepare them for their functions. Their qualifications are tested in exercises.

Support by the Federal Office for Civil Protection (FOCP)

The Training unit of the Federal Office for Civil Protection (FOCP) provides the training support for teaching staff, cadre and specialists of the civil protection organisations and coordinates training cooperation with its partner organisations and the armed forces. Whether staff exercises or security network exercises (SNX), the FOCP offers support in conjunction with cantonal management bodies and third parties. These tasks also include recruiting persons liable to serve in the civil protection organisation.

Federal Training Centre FTC

With its Federal Training Centre in Schwarzenburg, the FOCP is able to provide clients with a modern training infrastructure for courses, congresses, seminars and information campaigns.
